DIRTY GIRLS INVADE SIUE TRAILS

There were 13 women who gathered for a hot and sticky ride through the woods at SIUE this morning ~ a handful of newbies and the rest of us crazy in love with dirt. Two women drove all the way from Rolla to join us. Great meeting you, Abbey and Colette! We hope to see more of you!!!

Maro, Sara, Colette, Abbey, Alice, Heather, Suzanne, Annie, Traci, Lo, Jackie, Ana, Jean

The Dirty Girls Band of Thirteen sure made their presence known.  We were quite a sight as we weaved and rolled along the trails.  One dude rider who pulled over for us was quite impressed, “WOW!  I can never get that many for a group ride!”

A BIG THANKS to the Alpine Shop who understands the importance women supporting women and partnering with Team Revolution to pull off these Dirty Girls rides. Thanks to Traci, Alpine Shop bike shop manager, who organizes the monthly rides so women can get comfortable on their mountain bikes while sampling and getting familiar with the area trails. Thanks to Lo who lead and Maro and Ana who faithfully swept this ride. Lo and Traci spread their words of dirty wisdom throughout the ride helping everyone become better riders.

These are great rides for anyone who is interested in honing their mountain bike skills. Seasoned riders are always on hand to help and assist with questions and skill building.  No matter what your skill level is, you are welcome to ride!

After the ride, a band of dirty sistas took over a local BBQ joint and had lunch with the area bull. Gotta refuel after a Dirty Girls ride!

What a fun ride & lunch!

I love the Dirty Girls rides…it is so awesome to have a wide variety of riders out enjoying the trails together. It is really neat to see a first time rider take to the trails and get hooked on such a great sport.

Thanks to Traci for organizing and to all the advanced riders for their support, tips, &encouragement on the trails! Thanks to the new riders for coming out and riding!

    See you next month,
    Maro
