GROUP RIDES
We're all about learning and teaching on our rides. Most of them are no-drop, or are have Team Rev ambassadors to coach you through tough hills, descents and traffic riding. The rides and maps listed below are subject to change in 2010, as we reorganize, prioritize, and branch out with our newly appointed Ride Chairperson and Committee.

SATURDAY MORNING BEGINNER RIDE
Distance: 9.6 miles
Time: 10am
Start location: Velocity Cafe and Cyclery
Description: This is a new (as of May 2, 2009) "NO DROP" ride where we will go at the pace of the slowest rider; we expect to consistantly pedal without "taking breaks" but want to ensure every rider finishes with another rider or coordinator.
At just under 10 miles it's a good ride to start your fitness and get comfortable riding on roads and with a group. We utilize part of Forest Park which leaves some room to expand on your ride as your fitness grows.

WEDNESDAY NO STOP / NO DROP
Distance: 17 miles
Time: 6pm (after the spring time change)
Start location: Straubbs in Webster Groves, MO
Description: This is our flagship "NO DROP" ride where we will go at the pace of the slowest rider; we expect to consistantly pedal without "taking breaks" but want to ensure every rider finishes with another rider or coordinator. Since we have so many "regulars," the pace is steady and can be high for beginners. Generally, it falls into two distinct riding groups. We'll always make sure no one is left behind, but we've been told by many first-timers that the hills are quite challenging and we recommend a good fitness level before committing to this ride. |

MONDAY NIGHT (FAST) RIDE
Distance: 30.5 mi.
Time: 6pm (after the spring time change)
Start location: Mueller Soccer Park / St. Charles County
Description: This group ride goes on during spring/summer/fall as daylight permits. The Monday Night Ride is the ride our racers use to train for race simulation; the "peleton" is compiled mostly of men, many that also race. The course is flat and can be windy. If it's your first time out, be sure to take a map and get to know the course. Given the speed of this ride, you're likely to need a few weeks to get the hang of it enough to stay with the pack the whole ride. Getting dropped here is par for the course--but once you hang on for the whole route, you'll be hooked. |
