WHAT IS THIS REVOLUTION?
Team Revolution is an organization committed to building a community for women who ride bikes (um, bicycles, yes). We teach, advocate, ride, race, socialize (not necessarily in that order). The club is run by dedicated cyclists in and around the St. Louis (Missouri) area interested in sharing a passion for the sport with anyone who will listen and wants to learn. An upcoming event is the 2010 Frostbike Series. It's aimed at women of all abilities and speeds--to simply get outside and ride during the months of January and February. Last year over 30 women joined us for rides in sub-freezing temps. It was hailed as "one of the most empowering experiences ever". Youcan ride all year. We want you to prove it to yourself.
ROAD FROSTBIKE
WHEN / WHERE: The ROAD version starts Jan 9 & 10, 2010 (you can pick either Saturday or Sunday, whichever works best with your schedule) and runs for four weekends. We roll out at 10 am from Velocity Cafe and ride the 15 mile loop together. VelocityCafe has jumped on board to sponsor the series again and happily provide warm drinks upon each start and finish with a 10% discount to participants on their food and drink orders for ride days.
MTB FROSTBIKE
WHEN / WHERE: The MOUNTAIN BIKE version will directly follow the ROAD serie,s starting on February 6 & 7, and will meet at Castlewood for another 4 weeks. It will start at 9 am (to avoid potential thaw issues). Like the road version, participants will be able to choose the best day for them each weekend. The official loop will be a beginner level trail, so everyone looking to get MTB experience is welcome. Once the Frostbike loop is completed together, riders maysplit up for various levels of riding.
COST: for both series it's $50. Each week you show up, we give you $10 credit. At the end of the series you collect the money you earned back and the coveted Frostbike schwag you earned by riding in the cold. Every week.
